Hotel Fox is a design hotel in Copenhagen, made up of 61 rooms designed by 21 artists. Not gonna lie, it was pretty dang hard to choose a room, because they’re all SO different from each other and would give a different experience. In the end we got our first choice – “King Albino Room” done by Friendswithyou. By the way that little-tree-bark-guy-stool was the step to get up to the bed. How cute? and convenient for someone small like me.
If you only have time for one restaurant in Copenhagen, I’d suggest Ida Davidsen. Serving the best Smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches) I’ve ever had (albeit the first), it definitely left me and my belly 100% satisfied. Plus Ida herself is actually THERE to explain all 514384014 sandwiches they have on the menu. The atmosphere is cosy, the waiters are friendly (for the most part) and the creativity that goes into their presentation is also just right (note: the egg shell cups)
The Last Bag was what I was looking forward to most after reading about it in our travel book. It’s this tiny little store in Nørreport, which has been making the same original Danish school satchel since 1954. To me it’s pretty much the epitome of timeless design since something like that isn’t confined to a single season. I instantly liked this grey ’48′ one with matching stitching which I later purchased (after first leaving the store then going back) Pooey and I decided to share it, so it was an even better buy! Made in Denmark, the leather is amazing and I can’t wait till it softens up and gets that worn-in effect over time. The guy running the store had this one satchel which started off almost white, and through years of exposure to sunlight, snow and rain, it turned a beautiful camel color. Should’ve snapped a pic!!!
Anyway for those of you that want your own, visit The Last Bag. They do customization, including embossing of your initials, and they deliver worldwide!
Copenhagen is a beautiful (small) city. It’s a shame that we managed to visit during one of the worst winters in decades? I think that’s what someone said…but I love how everyone rides a bike, and I mean everyone. And people dress their bikes up too! How badass is that viking bike above? Reader Ingrid linked me to Bakerby, a blogger who lives in CPH, and her photos really show how picturesque Copenhagen can be.
Next time you travel anywhere, it’s best to go in spring.
By the way, my blog is now viewable on smartphones. So feel free to pay me a visit on your way to school/work or when you’re doing a big poop! ♥
